Sacramento Behavioral Healthcare Hospital (SBHH) is a new facility located near downtown Sacramento. As the first newly constructed psychiatric hospital in Northern California in more than 30 years, this hospital offers 117 inpatient acute psychiatric beds, an outpatient treatment center, and a procedures clinic providing electro-convulsive therapy (ECT) and other interventional psychiatry services. We offer a full range of individualized treatment services, adults, and senior adults, including treatment for mental health and co-occurring (mental health and substance abuse) disorders. Additional services include mental health and substance abuse screening, assessment, crisis intervention, consultation, education, and individual and group counseling.
Job Description
The Adjunctive Therapist will plan and implement therapeutic groups or activities for adult and adolescent patients at Santa Rosa Behavioral Healthcare Hospital. The role involves using certified modalities to provide individual and group sessions, and working as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related field with a certification in music, art, physical, occupational, or recreation therapy.
- One year experience in a health care field with emphasis in adjunctive therapy.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required, or obtained within initial orientation period.
- Verbal de-escalation and physical intervention program as approved by the CNO.
- Familiarity of psychiatric and addictive disease diagnoses and treatment.
- Demonstrated group process, teaching or training skills.
