The Engineering Intern will have an opportunity to learn and/or use basic engineering and lean manufacturing principles, theories, and concepts. The intern will perform entry level manufacturing engineering assignments and have the opportunity to develop skills in manufacturing process support, analysis and design, oral and written communications, and continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a regionally accredited college or university program leading to a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or other science or technology related major
- Good academic standing expected
- Manufacturing process support
- Manufacturing process analysis and design
- Oral and written communications of analytic results and creation of formal report
- Study, and analyze plant assembly processes
- Develop and document plant assembly processes
- Flexibility to address special projects as they arise
- Assist in continuous improvement efforts focusing on Quality improvements, Line balance optimization, Safety/ergonomic improvements, Overall efficiency improvements
- Must be currently enrolled in an Engineering program
- Excellent technical, verbal, written and presentations skills
- Proven problem-solving skills are required
- Knowledge of industrial tools, hand tools and power tools is preferred
- Ability to work in a self-directed environment is preferred
- Must be flexible to work portions of day and evening shift
- Be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Strong MS Office skills required. Specifically: Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- 3.0 GPA or higher is preferred
