Job Description
Relativity Space is building rockets for space travel and is seeking a Weld Engineer I to join the Materials and NDE team. The team focuses on developing, characterizing, and inspecting materials and processes, collaborating with design and manufacturing teams to ensure the quality and reliability of Terran-R vehicles. The role involves welding, additive manufacturing, and manufacturing support for flight vehicles.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering or a related field
- Hands-on experience with aerospace fusion welding processes (GTAW, robotic, laser preferred)
- Familiarity with industry welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS D17.1)
- Knowledge of common aerospace materials (stainless steel, nickel, aluminum, titanium alloys)
- Basic CAD proficiency (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX)
- Experience with robotic and semi-automated welding techniques
