Staff Propulsion Design Engineer, Engine Systems Design & Analysis

Relativity Space is seeking an Engine Assembly Responsible Engineer to own top-level engine CAD models and drive cross-functional alignment throughout the engineering lifecycle. This role involves leading design and configuration control, analyzing integrated design, and collaborating with various teams to ensure high-quality engine assembly. The team focuses on developing and delivering high-performance engines for rocket development and early-stage qualification.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional design experience
• Bachelor's degree in an engineering field
• Demonstrated project/technical leadership skills
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals in structures, fluids, thermal, and mechanisms
• CAD skills (any platform) and ability to make high quality engineering drawings
• Experience with large CAD model management, change management, and configuration management
• Experience owning ambiguous layout and packaging trades
• Experience designing Integrated Design hardware (manifolds, secondary structure, tubing, etc.)
• Systems thinker
• Ability to understand the work of other teams and assess impact
• Attention to detail
• Great Integration/Manufacturing partner experience
• Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
