The Mental Health Liaison/Counselor will work closely with the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services and Directors of Community Schools and Special Ed to provide student and family counseling services. The ideal candidate will have experience working with mental health agencies and service providers, and be able to provide culturally competent services to diverse populations.
Requirements
- Prior experience as a mental health professional
- Experience working with mental health agencies and service providers
- Experience with children and families with special needs especially in school settings
- Experience with, or knowledge of mental health/public health needs, service and promotion
- Demonstrated ability to work with and provide culturally competent services to diverse populations
- Excellent written and oral skills
- Possession of a valid and appropriate California Driver’s License
- Ability to relate positively with children
- Willingness and ability to collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and staff
- Strong Organizational Skills
- Flexible, adaptable, able to bring groups together for a common goal
- A working knowledge of computer technology
- Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate district functions/events
- Bilingual desirable (Spanish/English)
