Engineering Manager, Full-Stack/Backend

RapidSOS is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a dedicated full-stack team building cutting-edge technology with real-world impact. The ideal candidate will have 8-10+ years of full-stack engineering experience and 3-5+ years of experience leading engineering teams. They will be responsible for driving the architecture, design, and implementation of new features, championing an AI-forward approach, and leading strategic architectural decisions.

Requirements

• 8-10+ years of full-stack engineering experience
• 3-5+ years of experience leading engineering teams
• 3–5+ years of developing backend systems and services, preferably in Python or Node
• 3-5+ years of developing rich, interactive, scalable frontend applications with React/Redux, TypeScript, and modern HTML and CSS
• Experience with AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring best practices using tools like Datadog
• Proven ability to lead technical decisions around system architecture and scalability
• Highly self-motivated; ability to adapt, navigate ambiguity, and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Strong proficiency in coding best practices – ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code
• Demonstrated expertise in problem solving – from troubleshooting issues to debugging a large codebase
• Customer-centric mindset; cares deeply about delivering solutions that enable and delight customers while meeting product goals
• Comfort using AI tools to accelerate development, improve code quality, and enhance team productivity
• Ability and willingness to collaborate in-person quarterly, or as needed
