Senior Relay Field Technician

Power your future with Qualus in our Field Engineering department as a Senior Relay Field Technician. Perform testing/routine maintenance of Transmission and Distribution substation power equipment, relaying, pilot channel equipment, controls and communications equipment.

Requirements

• Interpreting substation drawings and performing red lining of design documents
• Writing procedures and/or test plans, risk assessments, and practical application of basic protection and control systems
• Creating comprehensive functional guidelines and identifying common risks associated with testing and commissioning
• Performing post-project documentation compilation and review
• Testing and calibrating relays, trip testing, and verifying alarms
• Performing routine troubleshooting and repair of substation relaying and control equipment
• Commissioning new substations, power equipment, and controls and communications equipment
• Leads people and tasks within a larger project or provides technical and people leadership on projects
• Performs weekly site safety inspections
