The Project Engineer is responsible for the management and coordination of all technical aspects of new power generation capital projects. This role ensures that engineering is aligned with corporate goals and is complete, accurate and constructible for all elements of a project's scope.
Requirements
- Promotes safe behavior and adherence to safety rules
- Identifies engineered safety controls and hazard removal during engineering design
- Supports/Leads cross-functional team
- Ensures documentation of engineering and construction quality
- Supports/Leads Owner team in writing official Records of Decision
- Acts as Contract Manager for various engineering and construction contracts
- Performs/Manages the review of engineering design
- Coordinates with the Project Manager
- Participates in contractor/vendor selection process
- Supports/Leads technical open book engineering process
- Assists Contractor and Vendors during design and construction
- Assures that all firms solicited to provide engineering services are duly licensed
- Assures Project compliance with NERC and Security Standards
- Ensures all documents generated on the project are stored in designated repository
- Supports/Leads/Follows change management process
- Participates in the equipment inspection activities
- Supports/Leads Owner review and signoff of System Turnover packages
- Supports commissioning and ensures performance, reliability and emissions testing are completed
