Pyramid Systems is looking for a Business Development Director – DoD Contracts to develop and execute a comprehensive federal growth strategy aligned with corporate objectives. This role is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and shaping new DoD business opportunities.
Requirements
- 10–15+ years of progressive federal business development and capture management experience in IT, digital transformation, or consulting, including direct experience supporting DoD programs.
- Strategic and process‐driven leader with a proven track record in federal and DoD‐focused growth initiatives.
- Demonstrated success winning new business in the $10M–$100M+ range with civilian or Department of Defense agencies.
- Strong network of relationships across federal decision‐makers, system integrators, and partners, with established connections in the DoD ecosystem.
- Respected reputation within the federal and defense community, with a history of trusted engagement.
- Deep understanding of federal and DoD acquisition processes (FAR, DFARS, IDIQs, BPAs, GWACs) and the full capture lifecycle, including RFI, RFP, technical challenges, and demos.
- Experience developing and executing winning capture strategies with disciplined pursuit processes.
- Strong sales, negotiation, and presentation skills — able to communicate value and differentiate Pyramid’s solutions.
- Highly organized and methodical; excels at tracking pipelines, managing pursuits, and leading cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of key federal initiatives such as digital modernization, CX, AI/automation, HRIT, and data transformation.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., PMP, Capture/BD certifications) preferred.
