As a key member of the front-line management team, the Assistant Operations Manager will effectively direct, plan, and supervise terminal operations and staff to ensure efficient, safe, and productive operations.
Requirements
- Effectively manage the work activities of the Foreman, Labor, and other personnel
- Determine the amount of labor needed for each day and ensure labor is ordered appropriately
- Make decisions affecting overtime cost and general expenditures
- Ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with safety programs
- Work closely with M&R/Terminal Departments to ensure equipment allocation meets operational demands
- Maintain positive relations with Labor and ensure Collective Bargaining Agreements are understood and adhered to
- Develop and communicate operating and administrative procedures
- Ensure certifications and required training and clearances are current
