Requirements
- Uses CAD to design tooling and fixtures for machining, fabrication, assembly, rework, and work simplification.
- Participates in new machinery and equipment research and justification in conjunction with ME Manager.
- Performs Installation and Operational Qualifications of New and/or Relocated equipment including software and associated components.
- Maintains factory shop floor layouts.
- Prepares cost estimates for machining, fabrication, and assembly of parts and complete assemblies.
- Performs process workflow, take time, and ergonomic analyzes on machining and assembly processes.
- Documents changes to existing processes and equipment that improve performance and manufacturing costs.
- Writes CNC programs, sets-up tooling, and develop tool-test trials in conjunction with CNC Programmer.
- Helps in problem troubleshooting in conjunction with Assembly, Machine Shop, or Maintenance.
- Performs cost reductions as required, especially related to process, tooling, and fixture improvement.
- Helps in troubleshooting pump performance issues related to manufacturing or assembly.
- Handles manufacturing, Assembly and Post-Assembly Process selection and dictation
- Identify the machine type(s) for manufacturing components.
- Analyzing and dictating cutting processes such as boring vs interpolation and end mills vs reamers vs drills.
- Supporting purchasing in sourcing on new raw material vendors or even materials themselves.
- Completes 100% of tool selection and programming for assigned work centers.
- Tool testing with various tool vendors.
- Took knowledge including tool coatings, materials, geometrics, and processes.
- Programming including EIA, advanced probing and CAM Basic
- Expert on all USM tooling pre-setters including set-up, troubleshooting, and training.
- Spends 50%+ time on strategic quality and cycle time improvement projects.
- Uses APQP elements such as Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) on new processes.
- Works with Quality Assurance to create and administer Control Plans using SPC or Cp/CpK data as guidelines.
- Maintains understanding of Standardized Work.
