The Process Engineer - Plastic Extrusion will design and manufacture profile extrusion tooling, develop custom processes, and lead new tooling development projects to improve quality, material usage, and productivity.
Requirements
- Maintains compliance with company and plant safety policies and procedures
- Completes annual training as required
- Designs tooling and develops processes for mono and co-extrusion plastic profiles
- Leads new tooling development process for assigned projects
- Partners with production, maintenance, and QC teams to develop processes
- Coordinates tooling needs for new products
- Oversees tool making activities in the machine shop
- Serves as systems analyst for the machine shop
- Coordinates tool making activities with other engineers and VP of Engineering
- Works with Supply Chain Manager to coordinate procurement needs
- Supports other departments and Pexco sites in tooling needs
- Troubleshoots process difficulties and supports production
- Coordinates timely response to rebuilding tooling needs
- Works on continuous improvement projects for efficiencies and reduces scrap
