Job Description
The Assistant Buyer performs technical and mechanical aspects of the buying role, contributing to sales, gross margin, and inventory turnover goals while learning the long-range business strategy.
Requirements
- Assist buyer with developing reports to analyze sales and stock position
- Reorder product, determine order quantities and frequency
- Plan short-term business objectives
- Develop collaborative vendor relationships
- Maintain accurate and updated records of assortment recaps and on order
- Work with buyer to ensure signing is in place
- Field phone calls regarding product assortment, pricing and marketing inquiries
- Order and organize samples for necessary internal meetings
- Visit retail competition to maintain product awareness
- Participate in department meetings and present ideas/opinions
