Job Description
The Deputy Sheriff-Jailer is a full-time sworn role responsible for jail duties such as custody, record-keeping, security, and court appearances. This position emphasizes jailer operations and involves applying incarceration methods. Requires a valid driver’s license, proficiency in firearms and operating computer systems, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 60 college credits within 5 years of hire date
- U.S. Citizen
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record
- Ability to possess a firearm
- No felony convictions
- No domestic abuse convictions
- Good verbal and written skills
- Ability to perform essential job functions of the position
- Ability to obtain and retain certification as a "jail officer" by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board
