Teaching faculty at Owens Community College are responsible for supporting student success by creating an optimum learning environment, responding to student needs, managing effective instructional activities, and maintaining competency in their instructional field.
Requirements
- Teaching undergraduates
- Classroom and/or online instruction in the discipline of Philosophy
- Knowledge of current pedagogy in teaching college students and Philosophy
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Computer use, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and/or other required programs, Blackboard, and Owens email (Outlook)
- Ability to integrate methodologies to facilitate student learning
- Understanding of community college students' needs
- Classroom management and organization
- Following instructions and meeting deadlines
- Providing feedback to students and evaluating student work fairly
- Engaging in Department and College workshops, training sessions, and professional development activities
