Lead Engineer - Embedded Software and Controls

Origin is building general-purpose autonomous robots for US construction. As the Lead Embedded Software and Controls Engineer, you will lead the design and implementation of control algorithms and foundational embedded software that give our robots their precision, reliability, and autonomy.

Requirements

• Control System Architecture: Lead the architecture and design of robust and reliable control systems for our mobile manipulator robots.
• Actuator & Sensor Integration: Develop software for the control of motors, actuators, and other drive components.
• Embedded Compute & Firmware: Develop, optimize, and ensure the reliability of low-level firmware and drivers for real-time performance and efficient hardware interaction.
• Rapid Prototyping & Testing: Lead the prototyping and testing of control algorithms, both in simulation and on physical hardware.
• Collaboration & Integration: Work closely with the software team to integrate the electromechanical system on ROS2 and contribute to ROS2 driver development.
