Job Description
The Credentialing Specialist ensures the timely and efficient credentialing of all new and standing medical staff members. This includes initial appointment, reappointment, and privileging, in compliance with regulatory bodies and hospital policies. The role involves reviewing applications, background investigations, managing credential files, and ensuring compliance with established procedures.
Requirements
- Preparation, dissemination, collection, and review of application files.
- Thorough background investigations.
- Validating discrepancies and following up on issues.
- Completion of credential files for review by committee.
- Performance of requests for changes in privileges.
- Compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws, Credentials Policy and relevant regulations.
- Utilizing the credentialing database.
- Fulfilling all compliance responsibilities.
