Job Description
The Chemical Safety Engineer will plan, develop, and oversee a statewide program for the engineering and safety evaluation of chemical manufacturing facilities handling extraordinarily hazardous substances. The engineer will assist with the implementation of the Toxic Catastrophe Prevention Act program, audit and inspect risk management programs, and prepare reports and enforcement actions.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Five (5) years of experience in the field of chemical engineering related to chemical plant operations, process design, or safety assessments.
- Possession of a valid Professional Engineer's License issued by the NJ State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
