Job Description
Newark Natural Foods Co-op is seeking a Salad and Cold Foods Kitchen Associate to support a fast-paced café, contributing to efficient food production and upholding high-quality standards. This role involves daily food production, recipe review, menu creation, and adhering to strict food safety procedures. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, detail-oriented, and possess strong teamwork skills.
Requirements
- Strong working knowledge of cold Case production techniques
- Experience in General kitchen operations
- Proficiency in large batch salad and sandwich preparation
- Familiarity with the preparation of natural foods (vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, etc.)
- Knowledge of organic food, farming, sustainability, health, and nutrition (preferred)
- Ability to work cooperatively
- Ability to follow instructions
- Flexible availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Valid Food Handlers certification (preferred)
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift 50lbs
- Ability to adapt to changing needs
