Join our dedicated sleep team as a Sleep Technologist, where you'll play a critical role in diagnosing and monitoring sleep disorders. You'll operate advanced medical equipment, ensure patient safety, and provide vital insights to physicians through high-quality sleep study recordings.
Requirements
- Perform and monitor overnight polysomnographic studies independently and safely.
- Apply, calibrate, and maintain recording devices for EEG, EOG, EMG, EKG, and respiratory measures.
- Recognize and respond appropriately to sleep-related pathologies and emergencies.
- Administer CPAP/BiPAP/ASV and oxygen therapy as ordered by physicians.
- Ensure proper documentation and timely reporting of observations and changes in patient status.
- Identify and troubleshoot equipment artifacts and environmental factors that may affect study quality.
- Clean and maintain equipment in proper working condition; manage inventory of testing supplies.
- Score sleep studies using age-specific criteria to support physician interpretation.
- Educate patients and families about procedures, with sensitivity to age and developmental needs (Pediatric through Geriatric).
- Promote a safe, comforting environment, especially for pediatric and anxious patients.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and stay current with national guidelines for clinical polysomnography.
