Senior Backend Engineer II

As a Senior Backend Engineer II at Mistplay, you will hold a leading position in steering our backend systems and enriching the overall functionality of our platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect, develop, implement, and maintain complex backend features and services which meet industry standards and engineering best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 8+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer, with a proven track record of managing complex technical initiatives in an engineering driven product-centric environment
• Expert knowledge in backend programming languages and frameworks, especially Node.js, Typescript and other JavaScript-based technologies
• A deep understanding of non-relational databases like AWS DynamoDB, coupled with best practices associated with data storage and retrieval
• Solid experience with cloud technologies, particularly in AWS. Experience or sound knowledge on technologies like SNS, SQS, Lambda, S3, and Kinesis
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture along with experience in transforming monoliths into microservices
• An exceptional ability to work as part of a team, and to collaborate effectively with diverse cross-functional teams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to lead technical discussions, and keep them on track and focused
• Demonstrable analytical, data-driven problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and address backend development challenges as they arise
