Freelance AI Red Team Engineer

Mindrift is seeking a Freelance AI Red Team Engineer to evaluate and strengthen the safety and security of Generative AI models. The role involves working on offline test cases, developing automation scripts, leading security research, and advising on cybersecurity best practices. The platform connects AI specialists with AI projects, allowing for collaboration on ethical and responsible AI development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics or related field
• Advanced English proficiency (C1+)
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Experience with containerization and CI/CD security tools, especially Docker
• Hands-on experience with penetration testing across web, API, network, and infrastructure environments
• Knowledge of vulnerabilities in current AI models (prompt injections, OWASP Top 10)
• Familiarity with AI red-teaming frameworks (GARAK or PyRIT)
• Experience in AI/ML security, evaluation, and red teaming (LLMs)
• Proficiency in offensive exploitation and exploit development
• Skilled in reverse engineering using Ghidra or equivalents
• Expertise in network and application security (web application security)
• Knowledge of operating system security concepts (Linux privilege escalation)
• Familiar with secure coding practices for full-stack development
