Lead Cloud Engineer

Mill is looking for a hands-on Senior Cloud Engineer to lead their Cloud work across their AWS infrastructure. In this role, you'll work with a cross-functional team to deliver technical solutions, champion modern software development practices, and ensure the reliability of their systems.

Requirements

• 6+ years as a cloud (services) engineer / backend engineer
• Strong API design experience, and an understanding of building asynchronous systems and error handling
• Hands-on experience with AWS (AWS IoT is a plus)
• Familiarity with data pipelines and cloud-native data streaming and processing tools, such as Kinesis
• Strong background in Python
• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, preferably with serverless architectures and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g. API Gateway, Lambdas, RDS, DynamoDB, IAM, and CDK)
• Familiarity with version control, CI/CD, and build systems
• Passion for building reliable systems with deep knowledge of observability, tracing, and system performance
• Excellent communication skills
