EHS Gas/Chemical Safety Engineer

We are looking for an EHS Gas/Chemical Safety Engineer to join our team in Hiroshima, Japan. In this role, you will be responsible for safety management related to gas systems, chemical substances, and process safety. You will play a vital role in ensuring employee safety and enhancing the reliability of our facilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, process engineering, or a related field
• Japanese proficiency at JLPT N3 level or higher (N2 or above preferred)
• Knowledge of relevant regulations, including the Industrial Safety and Health Act, the High Pressure Gas Safety Act, and chemical substance management laws
• Experience in safety management within manufacturing, plant operations, chemical facilities, or gas systems (preferred)
• Practical experience in risk assessment, accident investigation, and implementation of corrective actions
• Preferred certifications: Hazardous Materials Engineer, High Pressure Gas Safety Manager, EHS-related certifications (e.g., ISO 45001 Internal Auditor)
