Job Description
Mesabi Metallics is seeking an experienced Refractory Engineer to oversee the selection, installation, maintenance, and performance monitoring of refractory linings across high-temperature equipment within their newly constructed iron ore mining and pelletization project in Nashwauk, MN. This is a key role focused on ensuring reliability, safety, and thermal efficiency through expert refractory management, and a supportive, values-driven culture.
Requirements
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
- Lead refractory shutdown activities.
- Manage refractory planning and procurement.
- Conduct regular refractory inspections and monitoring.
- Supervise contractors during installation, shutdowns, and emergency repairs.
- Analyze refractory performance and recommend upgrades.
