The Construction Superintendent role requires an in-depth understanding of project execution strategies, workforce management theories, and Civil principles. The Superintendent must be able to apply industry insights to enhance on-site productivity, provide leadership, and influence processes and policies for effective workforce governance.
Requirements
- Project field supervision of civil onsite labor civil crafts, subcontractors, field staff, and overall budget performance
- Assist the construction manager in all issues pertaining to all site-related activities
- Supervise construction effort to ensure the project is constructed and/or maintained in accordance with design, budget, and schedule
- Study specifications to plan construction procedures
- Prepare, or receive from subordinates, reports on progress, materials used, and costs
- Order procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules
- Identify labor requirements
- Develop strong civil team
- Ensure that subordinates are knowledgeable of specifications and work procedures
- Plan required work activities to ensure that design drawings, tools, equipment, and materials are available
- Perform work in conformance with plans, specifications, schedules, and cost control estimates
- Own and lead the implementation, enforcement, and verification of compliance with all McDermott policies and procedures
- Ensure employees understand their responsibility and authority to effectively implement the requirements of all McDermott policies and procedures
- Ensure the timely completion of all mandatory training by themselves and their teams
