Job Description
MarketAxess is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join their X-Pro team and help build and operate a next-generation trading platform. The role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing systems that power their modernization journey to cloud-native architectures.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or related roles
- Strong knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java or Python) and scripting (e.g., Bash)
- Hands-on experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions
- Familiarity with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.)
- Experience defining and monitoring SLIs/SLOs
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in complex distributed environments
- Excellent communication skills—able to collaborate effectively and explain technical concepts clearly
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
