Job Description
The New York County District Attorney's Office has an opening for a Paralegal in its Early Complaint Assessment Bureau (ECAB). The Paralegal will provide time-sensitive clerical support to DANY's Trial Bureaus and Case Management Unit.
Requirements
- Draft Criminal Court complaints
- Obtain case information and supporting arrest documents from Police or security personnel
- Prepare case summaries outlining the circumstances of arrests
- Interview Police Officers or Security personnel to determine appropriate charges
- Assist with the processing of completed cases in the Complaint Room
- Maintain computerized records of all arrests pending the completion of a complaint
- Assist with the screening and assignment of arrests
- Provide administrative and technical support to Assistant District Attorneys
