We're looking for an Equipment Engineer to provide technical support for the operation and maintenance of wafer fabrication equipment on a continental shift pattern. The ideal candidate will have experience maintaining complex electro-mechanical systems in critical environments, including high-tech manufacturing, aerospace, defence, or UK Armed Forces technical trades.
Requirements
- Provide first-line engineering response for all equipment issues during shift operations
- Conduct repairs, fault diagnosis, and preventative maintenance on semiconductor processing tools
- Oversee chemical and gas supply management, waste handling, and spare parts control
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and field service engineers to ensure equipment reliability
- Implement and support preventative maintenance strategies to maximise OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and uptime
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, 6S, 8D) and maintain accurate documentation of actions and outcomes
- Prepare equipment performance and downtime reports (availability, utilisation, fault Pareto analysis, etc.)
- Participate in production and planning meetings to represent equipment engineering performance
- Support the site emergency response function, participation in the Emergency Response Team is encouraged
- Fork-lift truck operation may be required (training will be provided)
