Senior Software Engineer - Database Internals

LocalStack is a fast-growing Series A startup revolutionizing cloud development processes with a high-fidelity emulator and local cloud development platform. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work on Snowflake and AWS big data emulators, improving emulator usability and ensuring high-fidelity cloud platform emulation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in backend or systems engineering
• Strong understanding of modern databases and data warehouses
• Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Redshift, Athena, BigQuery)
• Practical knowledge of distributed and analytical engines (Apache Spark, Trino)
• Experience building developer tooling (CLI tools, SDKs)
• Proficiency in writing integration and regression tests
• Familiarity with Docker and container networking
• Experience with public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Strong programming skills in Python (Java a plus)
• Experience contributing to open source
