Senior Telecom Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Telecom Engineer to join our team in Chennai, India. The successful candidate will work on project- and tender-specific activities related to international T&D substation telecom systems, collaborating with a skilled engineering team. The role involves designing telecom systems, preparing engineering deliverables, and ensuring cost-effectiveness, compliance with contract requirements, and adherence to quality and safety standards.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in substation design with focus on Telecom Equipment expertise and overall system design.
• Bachelor’s Degree / master’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering
• Sound knowledge on telecom engineering aspects of AIS & GIS transmission and distribution substation up to 500kV.
• Wide knowledge on ANSI / IEEE standards is preferred.
• Knowledge on IEC, IEEE standards of telecom engineering in the following area is desirable.
• Tele protection systems (e.g., SEL, ABB, Siemens)
• SDH/PDH/MPLS/DWDM communication equipment
• SCADA communication protocols (IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, DNP3)
• Fiber optic communication systems (OPGW/ADSS/FO cable)
• PABX/IP phone systems, CCTV, access control, PAGA, FAS
• Understanding of CAD / CAE applications and tools.
• Understanding of electronic records management systems.
• High attention to detail and quality.
