Research Grants Manager

Research Grants Manager to establish and manage Macmillan's research funding activities, developing a research strategy and program of grant funding, and ensuring robust processes across the research funding cycle. The role involves building relationships with academic institutions and research funders, and managing a small team responsible for overseeing the administration of awards.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience
• Experience of establishing and managing research funding programs
• Convening and facilitating expert panels, including lived experience representatives
• Managing and developing a small team
• Strong understanding of research governance, ethics, compliance, and impact assessment frameworks
• Knowledge of the UK research funding landscape and cancer research ecosystem
• Excellent project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly to a range of audiences
