Senior Manager Engineering

Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead and oversee engineering functions at their Goleta, CA facility. This role involves managing advanced research, rapid prototyping, and new product development efforts. The ideal candidate will have leadership experience managing multiple engineering functions, a strong technical background in one or more disciplines, and the ability to manage a technical group independently. The role will report to the Advanced Technology Program Management Director and contribute to talent development, innovation, and strategic business objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or Software)
• 7 + years of relevant experience
• Proven experience in a leadership role managing direct reports
• Experience working in rapid prototyping and within the DoD industrial base
• Strong technical background in electrical, mechanical, systems, and/or software engineering
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Willing to travel up to 20%
