Job Description
The Structural Engineer is responsible for assisting with various Structural projects focused in rural and urban Alaska, using computer aided design technology and making structural calculations about pressures, loads, and stresses.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- PE required, working towards SE
- Minimum three (3) years of work experience as a Structural Engineer
- Experience in project management is preferred
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials and legal regulations
- Sound understanding of physics and mathematics
- Ability to liaise with professionals from other disciplines
- Three-dimensional conceptual skills
- Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail with superb organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines on multiple projects at the same time
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willing to travel to remote locations averaging once every three months
- Excellent communication and IT skills
- A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years
