Recovery Mentor/Peer Support Specialist - Part Time

KENOSHA HUMAN DEVELOPMENT SERVICES, INC. is seeking a part-time Recovery Mentor/Peer Support Specialist to provide support and assistance to Community Support Program (CSP) consumers. The role involves providing expert guidance, facilitating self-advocacy skills, and supporting participants in achieving their goals. This position reports to the Clinical Services Supervisor and focuses on promoting consumer empowerment and combating stigma.

Requirements

• a. Provide peer counseling, mentoring and support to program participants
• b. Facilitate participants in development of self-advocacy skills
• c. Work with team to ensure client rights
• d. Increase participant awareness of and involvement in consumer self-help programs
• e. Work with the referring case manager/service facilitator to coordinate specific services designed to assist participants with goal achievement
• f. Assist in the provision of program services as established by the treatment/recovery plan
• g. Provide medication compliance monitoring, symptom management/supportive psychotherapy and individual skills developments and enhancement services with participants as established in treatment/recovery plan
• h. Maintain records and document case notes daily
• i. Give and accept feedback as a part of a team
• j. Traverse within the workspace and community frequently
• k. Be willing to learn and work with the treatment philosophies
• l. Be bilingual in Spanish a plus
