Jhpiego seeks a Technical Director to support the implementation of Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) strengthening activities across Tando Allah Yar, Matiari, and Mirpurkhas districts of Sindh. The Technical Director will provide advanced technical and operational leadership to strengthen facility-level service readiness, quality improvement processes, and the functionality of BEmONC and CEmONC services.
Requirements
- Day-to-day technical leadership, coordination, and mentorship to a multidisciplinary team
- Implementation of MNCH intervention packages at secondary-level hospitals and health facilities
- Technical support to strengthen BEmONC and CEmONC signal functions
- Support for facility readiness for 24/7 EmONC service provision
- Rollout and adaptation of clinical guidelines, SOPs, and protocols
- Implementation of quality improvement (QI) initiatives
- Technical guidance and oversight on care for small and sick newborns
- Support for strengthening of blood banking and transfusion services
- Routine supportive supervision and mentoring visits to health facilities
- Support for facility teams in identifying service delivery gaps and implementing corrective actions
- Promotion of use of data and performance reviews to inform quality improvement efforts
- Support for on-the-job training and mentoring of doctors, nurses, midwives, and paramedical staff
- Assistance in planning and delivery of trainings, refreshers, and clinical coaching sessions
- Support for institutionalization of best practices within facilities and district health systems
- Coordination with district health offices, facility management, and provincial stakeholders
- Participation in district and provincial review meetings, technical working groups, and coordination forums
- Support for alignment of project interventions with Government of Sindh policies, strategies, and implementation plans
- Support for routine monitoring of MNCH service delivery and facility performance indicators
- Coordination with the M&E team to ensure accurate documentation of technical activities and outputs
- Contribution to monthly, quarterly, and annual program reports
- Support for documentation of best practices and success stories from implementation sites
- Ensure compliance with Jhpiego technical standards, safeguarding policies, and donor requirements
- Support for audits, evaluations, and special technical reviews
