Job Description
We are recruiting for a talented and motivated Technical Author to join our team on a permanent basis at Haynes Group Limited. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reinterpreting manufacturer content to make it suitable for an enthusiastic DIY mechanic working with limited knowledge and basic tools. The role requires an individual with strong mechanical and technical skills, who can interpret automotive aftersales technical data, and can apply this knowledge to explaining DIY activities.
Requirements
- Study the manufacturer and related content in our own internal editorial tool (XML Editor)
- Support the editorial process to enhance, critique, and collaborate with fellow content contributors to ensure the highest quality DIY advice possible
- Meet content production targets
- Help create a knowledgeable customer capability operation with content to respond to specific or repeatable questions
- Review customer service responses for safety, quality, and comprehensiveness
- Identify the key areas of the vehicle that should be highlighted in our product marketing material
- Contribute to preparation or sales demonstrations of products
- Proven experience with applying Automotive aftersales technical data on vehicles "hands-on"
- Relevant automotive certification
- Experience in producing content, instructions or explanations for mechanical and electrical procedures applying recommended tools and techniques
- Fluent English level (other languages a bonus)
- Familiarity with digital tools to create written, audio, and or video content
- Excellent attention to detail, safety, organisation, and commitment to maintaining high quality and safe conditions for DIY work
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
