Job Description
Howmet Fastening Systems is looking for a CNC Operator I in our Torrance, CA location. The role involves operating a single or multiple spindle numerical controlled drilling machine to perform operations such as drilling, reaming, boring, tapping, grooving, slotting, etc. The successful candidate will follow predetermined procedures, check own work for conformance to specifications, and report machine malfunction to the appropriate person.
Requirements
- Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions
- Understanding of cutting tools (offset and geometry) and must know “G” and “M” Codes
- Basic troubleshooting skills
- Ability to move and lift up to 30 lbs
- Understanding of 5S principals; Sort, Simplify, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain
- Ability to use measuring tools (Micrometers, Calipers, Dial Indicators, Comparator, Gages, etc) as required
- Lock, Tag, and Verify (LTV) authorized within a year of employment
- SPC knowledge highly desirable, mathematical skill and system 22
