The RN is responsible for the provision and coordination of patient-centered care, coordinating care to achieve desired outcomes, and participating in patient and family teaching. The RN is also accountable to practice in accordance with the Michigan Public Health Code Act 368 of 1978, Article 15 (Health Occupations), Part 172 (Nursing).
Requirements
- Graduate of accredited Registered Nursing Program
- Current Michigan RN License (or completed by end of orientation)
- Current BLS for the Healthcare Provider (or completed within 60 days of hire)
- Bachelor's of Science Nursing (BSN) preferred
- ACLS Certification or completed within one year of hire for ICU/TU, Cardiac Cath Lab, Emergency, PACU, Surgery Center, Endoscopy, Spine/Orthopedics, Float Pool
- PALS certification or completed within one year of hire for Emergency, 5 West, PACU, Surgery Center
- NRP Certification or completed within one year of hire for Birth Center
- Certification in specialty area (CCRN, CRN, CNOR, CEN, etc) preferred
- Recent hospital experience and/or previous nursing practice experience preferred
- 2 years prior RN experience in desired specialty area preferred
- Prior experience with electronic patient documentation system preferred
- Prior experience with technology common to specialty area (i.e., cardiac monitors, IV pumps) preferred
- Bilingual preferred
