The Toolmaker will provide support for various aspects of production and prototyping, performing tasks associated with fabrication and repair of tools, fixtures and other support projects or assemblies.
Requirements

- Maintain area and equipment cleanliness/organization
- Report problems to Supervisor
- Operate machinery in a safe consistent manner
- Interface with supervisor and/or area lead regarding production orders
- Ability to choose proper work holding, tooling and operation sequences dependent on part features and required tolerances
- Perform in process part inspection using manual inspection equipment
- Interface with inspection department regarding inspections that exceed the capabilities of manual inspection equipment
- Complete daily documentation regarding count, inspection and machine maintenance
- Deburr and package parts before they are moved to their next location
- Create tool paths off of provided CAD models
- Interpret G and M code
- Indicate working holding and custom fixtures
- Probing machine offsets and setting tool heights
- Grind tool profiles when required for custom jobs
- Interface with engineers to provide support for prototyping and fixture design
- Able to work independently or without assistance
- Provide support for other toolmakers in the area
- Improve functions and activities of the model shop
- Able to run majority of machines in Model Shop or highly proficient on specialized machine
- Provide training support for new hires
