Job Description
The Plate Welder 1st Class position involves welding steel plates and pipe in marine vessel repair and construction. The role requires competence in blueprint reading, welding techniques, and adherence to safety standards. Must be able to lift 50lbs and work in various environments like open air or confined spaces.
Requirements
- Strong welding skills (SMAW, FCAW, and/or AWS, depending on position)
- Blueprint reading and technical manual interpretation
- Ability to operate welding equipment
- Understanding of safety and PPE requirements
- Physical stamina for standing for long periods and lifting loads
