Technician II

Perform moderate mechanical repairs and assembly on construction equipment by trouble-shooting and using various diagnostic equipment. Checks equipment and supplies, prepares for duties, and uses various tools and resources to repair and test parts/equipment.

Requirements

• High school education or GED
• Three years direct work experience with a working knowledge of CAT literature systems
• Proficient in at least one mechanical system (i.e. hydraulics, transmissions, electrical, etc.)
• Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, and climb to perform diagnosis and repairs
• Ability to see effectively to perform repairs, research technical manuals, and develop written repair work order reports
• Ability to lift/position parts up to 112 pounds and use mechanical hoist for heavier parts
• Cognitive reasoning and problem solving skills
• Ability to write repair activities on customer work orders
