Field Technician I

The Field Technician I position involves troubleshooting, removing, installing, replacing, rebuilding, repairing, and testing parts/equipment on construction equipment at an advanced level. The role requires a high school education or GED, six years of experience with at least two years on Cat equipment or similar, and proficiency in at least two mechanical systems. The technician must be able to daily and repeatedly stoop, kneel, bend, and climb beside, onto, and underneath various equipment, lift/position various parts, and work independently with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• High school education or GED
• Six years of experience with at least two years on Cat equipment or similar
• Proficiency in at least two mechanical systems (transmissions, engines, hydraulics, etc.) for numerous model lines
• Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, and climb beside, onto, and underneath various equipment
• Ability to lift/position various parts up to 112 pounds and use mechanical hoist for heavier parts
• Basic proficiency using PC-based equipment and parts information
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Valid state driver's license (obtain within 30 days of hire) and safe driving record
• Possession of a safe driving record which meets the safe driving standards outlined in the GPEC Fleet Policy
• DOT medical certification for some positions
