Senior Software Engineering Manager

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineering Manager to own and evolve the Operating System ecosystem at Google Cloud. The role involves setting long-term goals, leading a high-performing engineering team, and collaborating with stakeholders to determine future directions. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical expertise, leadership qualities, and experience in C++, Linux Kernel, Operating Systems, and Rust.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• 8 years of experience with software development
• 7 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture
• 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role
• 5 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role
• Experience in C++, Linux Kernel, Operating Systems and Rust
• Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, 5 years of experience working in a structured organization, 5 years of experience in a technical leadership in large multi-year cross-team efforts, Experience with Kubernetes or containers/docker
