Job Description
Google DeepMind is seeking a Manager, Applied AI to lead the development and deployment of novel applications leveraging Google’s generative AI models. This role involves translating cutting-edge AI research into real-world products, and guiding a team from concept to production, with experience in early-stage or startup environments. The ideal candidate will be driven by product and business impact, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 8 years of experience in software development
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role
- 5 years of experience with media generation, reinforcement learning, ML infrastructure, or a related field
- 7 years leading technical project strategy, ML design, and optimizing ML infrastructure
- Proven experience managing software engineering teams
- Strong software engineering skills (proficiency in Python)
- Experience evaluating model performance, analyzing results, and implementing improvements
- Experience with cloud computing platforms and infrastructure (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure)
- Experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, etc.)
