Job Description
Group Leaders are assigned to work with a group of children, broken down by age, on a number of various tasks including homework help, STEM, literacy, Art and social-emotional competencies. Group Leaders report to the After School Program Director.
Requirements
- Maintaining sound supervision and ensuring the safety of program participants at all times, including school pick-up.
- Establishing and cultivating positive relationships with youth and their families.
- Supervising and supporting homework help Monday-Thursday.
- Maintaining positive relationships with partner programs.
- Reporting, in writing and verbally, all illnesses/injuries and behavioral incidents of participants.
- Attending and participating in weekly staff meetings, special events, and trainings as scheduled.
- Providing clear direction to work study students, interns, classroom volunteers and other group leaders.
- Establishing and maintaining a nurturing learning environment with clear, age-appropriate expectations and rules.
