GOAL is an international non-governmental organization for development. The position of Senior Specialist in Bio-Negotiations aims to facilitate the process of technical assistance and empowerment in the bio-negotiation approach at the community and institutional level to implement and monitor green and blue bio-negotiation plans in the regions of interest.
Requirements
- Fluency in Spanish is essential.
- Ability to drive 4x4 vehicles with a valid license and experience in rural or difficult-to-access areas.
- University degree in areas such as Environmental Economics or Ecological Economics, Business Administration with a focus on sustainability, Environmental Engineering, Fisheries, Agroforestry, or Industrial Engineering, Environmental Sciences or Sustainable Development, and Biology with a focus on natural resource management, and related fields.
- Master's degree in Sustainable Development, Bioeconomy, Blue or Green Economy, Project Management Development, International Cooperation, or Peace and Development.
- Relevant additional studies and training in areas such as Blue, Green, and Bioeconomy (sustainable fishing, responsible aquaculture, mangroves), Bioeconomy and Bio-Negotiations, Circular Economy and regenerative models, and experience in Nature-Based Solutions (NbS).
- Minimum 5-7 years of professional experience in rural development, environmental, or economic projects.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing blue and green bio-negotiations, sustainable livelihoods, or bioeconomy.
- Experience in working in rural, coastal, or hard-to-access areas.
- Experience in conflict-affected, post-conflict, or triple-affected contexts.
- Experience in accompanying community associations, community councils, artisanal fishing cooperatives, or agroforestry cooperatives.
- Experience in articulation with the public, private, and international cooperation sectors.
