Android Audio Senior Engineer

Android Audio Engineer for the Video Systems Development Centre (R&D) at GN/Jabra, based in Ancona, Italy. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining audio features and components for Android platforms, including HAL/HIDL/AIDL and middleware integration. The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields, and good experience with Android audio framework development, including HAL/HIDL/AIDL, Audio Flinger, and ALSA architecture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields
• Good experience with Android audio framework development, including HAL/HIDL/AIDL, Audio Flinger, and ALSA architecture
• Experience with design and optimization of real-time audio algorithms for Android systems, with a focus on Audio HAL and AOSP
• Deep knowledge of audio signal processing and auditory perception
• Good experience with embedded audio DSP development, integration, and debugging
• Demonstrated ability in C/C++, Java, Python, and familiar with Android development tools (Android Studio, AOSP, Git, Jenkins, JIRA)
• Proficient understanding of audio routing, volume control, and mode management in Android OS
• Demonstrate interpersonal skills, establish good relationships, generate motivation, and negotiate priorities
• Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills in English with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
