Materials Engineer

General Matter is seeking a Materials Engineer to lead the development, qualification, and continuous improvement of the materials and processes that underpin our enrichment technology. The ideal candidate will combine rigorous scientific intuition with practical lab skills to identify failure modes, develop mitigation strategies, and drive material innovations that enhance performance, reliability, and manufacturability across our systems.

Requirements

• Provide materials and process support for hardware teams
• Increase reliability and manufacturability of hardware through material and process development
• Perform root cause investigations using fractography, metallography, and testing
• Own definition, qualification, and implementation of corrosion mitigations across all hardware
• Develop in-house material compatibility database through test
• Root cause corrosion-related findings and drive further action for continuous improvement
