Job Description
Geeks on Site is seeking a skilled On-Call IT Field Technician to support residential and small business customers. The role involves troubleshooting hardware, resolving network issues, and configuring printers/scanners. Technicians will be dispatched to customer sites based on proximity and availability and provide independent service. This is a contract position with no guaranteed hours.
Requirements
- Diagnose and repair hardware/software issues on Windows and macOS systems
- Resolve boot errors, OS issues, and login problems
- Set up or troubleshoot Wi-Fi and wired internet connections
- Replace or upgrade hardware (HDD, RAM, cooling fans, etc.)
- Configure or connect printers and scanners (Canon, HP, Brother, etc.)
- Perform general maintenance on multifunction printers (MFPs)
- Reinstall operating systems using bootable USBs or recovery media
- Install remote tools or shortcuts as requested
- Communicate clearly with customers and provide basic post-service support
- Document service visits and escalate complex issues as needed
